Taipei Grand Trail is an outdoor hiking adventure that blends challenge with fun. Launched in 2018, it has attracted countless participants and grown into one of Taiwan’s most popular hiking events. Over the years, it has evolved into a symbol of Taipei’s mountain landscapes—a signature brand and a classic must-hike route for many.

Comprising eight interconnected sections and stretching 130 kilometers in total, the trail seamlessly links Taipei’s green mountain corridors with its blue riverside landscapes, bringing nature closer than ever before. With easy access via MRT, buses, YouBike, and even the Maokong Gondola, stepping into the mountains and along the waterways is effortless. Set off anytime—just go, and enjoy the journey!

2026 Taipei Grand Trail Gem Hunt — Officially Launched!

Whether you’ve completed the trail once or many times before, 2026 is the year to hike it all—again and again!

In addition to Mission 1: Annual Certification Challenge, simply open the Hiking Notes App, head out onto the eight sections of the Taipei Grand Trail, and collect the specially designed gems placed along each route.
Each section features 7 unique gems—collect all 56 gems to earn the 2026 Online Achievement Badge, unlock a Digital Completion Certificate, and gain a chance to win exciting prizes.

Upgraded Rewards for Completing Mission 1 This Year!

This year, rewards for completing Mission 1 have been upgraded and will be mailed directly to participants who successfully finish the challenge.

Mission 2  “Monthly Gem Champion”

Climb the Gem Leaderboard Again and Again!

To encourage a consistent exercise habit, the Gem Mission is leveling up! This year, we’re launching the brand-new “Monthly Gem Champion” Leaderboard.

From April to November, a designated trail section will be featured each month. We invite everyone to log in daily, collect gems, and make hiking part of your everyday routine.

Rank among the Top 100 gem collectors in the designated month to receive an exclusive reward: the Limited-Edition Monthly Gem Coaster (prizes will be sent by mail).

Gem totals for each monthly leaderboard will be counted through 11:59 PM on the last day of each month. So make the most of every beautiful day—hit the trail, enjoy your hike, and collect as many gems as you can!

⚠️ You may collect up to 7 gems per day. Check in at the trailhead daily and steadily work your way toward becoming the Monthly Gem Champion.

⚠️ If participants have the same number of gems, they will share the same rank.
For example, if two participants tie for 2nd place, the next rank will be 4th place.

⚠️ The leaderboard is updated daily at 6:00 AM, 12:00 PM, 6:00 PM, and 12:00 AM.
