郡大山，又名Ludun-bukun或Uhais，是台灣玉山山脈主脊北段的一座知名山峰，其標高達3,277.6公尺，擁有獨特的地理位置和豐富的自然景觀，是登山者和自然愛好者的熱門目的地。這座山峰位於南投縣信義鄉東埔村，屬於玉山國家公園的北側邊界，是台灣百岳中排名第58位的高山，同時也是八秀之一。 Jhundashan, also known as Ludun-bukun or Uhais in the Bunun language, stands as a prominent peak in the northern section of the Yushan Mountain Range in Taiwan. With an elevation of 3,277.6 meters, it proudly holds the distinction of being marked as trigonometric point number 1694 and ranks 58th among Taiwan's Baiyue, the one hundred most prominent peaks. As one of the Eight Outstanding Scenic Spots, Jhundashan is situated in the northern boundary of Yushan National Park, in the Dongbu Village of Xinyi Township, Nantou County. 郡大山的名稱來自布農族的大社群郡大社，而東側山腳的溪流則被稱為郡大溪。這片地區在玉山山脈北段主脊的連接上，與郡大山相連的還有郡大山北峰、清水山、金子山、西巒大山、治茆山等眾多山峰。往南經由觀高坪可連接上八通關山西峰，轉往西則可接上八通關，進一步連接上玉山北峰；而往東則可連接上中央山脈主脊最高峰秀姑巒山。 郡大山的特色在於其雄偉的山脈景觀和豐富的生態系統。登山者在攀登的過程中，可欣賞到不同海拔帶的植被變化，從茂密的原始森林到高山草原，各種植物形成了一幅多彩的畫卷。山頂的視野更是壯觀，能夠俯瞰四周的山巒和遠方的風景。 The name Jhundashan is derived from the Bunun tribe's Dajia community, and the stream on its eastern slope is named Jhundaxi. Connected to the northern part of the Yushan Mountain Range main ridge, Jhundashan links to other peaks such as Jhundashan North Peak, Qingshui Mountain, Jinzishan, Xiluanda Shan, and Zhimao Shan as one travels north. Heading south through Guangaoping connects to the Yushan West Peak, turns west towards the Baitong Guan, and ascends to the Yushan North Peak. To the east, it connects to the highest peak of the Central Mountain Range, Xuebaoluan Shan. Overlooking Jhundaxi upstream across the Piyasan tectonic line, it faces Wushuang Shan of the eastern Central Mountain Range, along with Rengwei Penku Shan on the northwest ridge of Mabolasi Shan in the southeast. The western side of Jhundashan overlooks the Chen Youlan Creek valley. The route from the Dongbu community directly ascends, covering a horizontal distance of approximately 4 kilometers with an elevation difference exceeding 2300 meters when measured from the creek bottom. This path was historically used by the Bunun people of Hatazan to traverse the Jhundashan range, entering the Chen Youlan Creek valley on the east bank and establishing their influence by trading with the Tsou tribe. Mountaineer Lu Yexiong once used this route to directly climb Jhundashan as a warm-up for subsequent mountain-crossing expeditions. 郡大山的登山步道從郡大林道32K處起，經過望鄉山（3007公尺）和郡大北峰（3241公尺），這兩個標高超過3000公尺的山峰成為攀登者挑戰的目標。此外，還有一條往北縱走的路線，通往西巒大山（3081公尺）。這條路線為登山者提供了更多探險和探索的機會。 Presently, the public trail to Jhundashan begins at the 32K mark of the Jhundalin Forest Road. It passes through the peaks of Wangxiang Shan (3007 meters) and Jhundashan North Peak (3241 meters), both exceeding 3000 meters in elevation. Additionally, there is a route leading northward for those who wish to traverse towards Xiluanda Shan (3081 meters). 郡大山的地理位置使得它成為台灣登山者追求的高峰之一，而其豐富的歷史和文化背景也為這片山區增添了一份神秘感。登上郡大山，不僅是征服高峰的挑戰，更是一場與自然對話的奇妙之旅。 Jhundashan's allure lies not only in its breathtaking mountainous landscapes but also in its diverse ecosystems.
