相關山岳Mt. Everest
For adventure travel, everyone remembers Nepal. To be more precise, people know Mt. Everest more than Nepal. And I was born and raised in Nepal, the country of the highest mountains in the world. As I was born on the hillside, I had little interest in mountains and adventures. Every day was an adventurous day for us. We had to walk up and down the hill to reach school. So, we never dream of climbing mountains or visiting hill points.
One day, as I was preparing a report for my school project about Mt. Everest, it fascinated me. From that day on, I started watching videos of mountaineers and high-altitude trekkers . Still, I had no interest in watching the views. I was just interested in being in the base camp of the world's highest mountain and telling my school friends that I had been there. By doing so, my friends would respect me more. I was selfish here. I wanted to climb the mountain, but it cost way more than my family could afford. So, I dropped the idea of mountaineering.
After high school, I came to Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal. Then I got busy with new university friends and forgot about the plans we made for our school life. My father would always ask me to visit a local trekking agency in Nepal that my uncles had established. It's because they may offer me some internship work. As a dutiful child, I visited the office and became fascinated with the work culture. Now, I've started dreaming of working in a travel agency. I had a feeling that travel agents would have the time to visit every destination in the country for free. But I was wrong.
Time passed. After two years, I founded Heaven Himalaya , a trekking agency, with the help of my brother. Later, in March 2022, I had time to visit Everest Base Camp with my brother as an assistant. It was the peak season for trekking in Nepal. The trails were full of trekkers, porters, and guides. It was quite difficult for me as it was my first time walking at such high altitudes. But, I made it to the base camp of the world's highest mountain in about a week from Lukla, the starting point.
My Snapshot Moment
Standing at the base camp of the world's highest mountain was the best feeling in the world. While I was there, I remembered all my school friends and the promises I made to them. With the cold weather, gentle breeze, and high mountains everywhere, I jumped in joy. I bowed down a little to all the mountains and said each of my school friends' names as loud as I could. I opened my jacket, threw it on the ground, and sang a Nepali song. The mountains were smiling at me as I was busy dancing and celebrating the moment. I also piled up stones and named them in my mother's name. I searched for a beautiful stone, made a heart sign, and threw it in the air that year, dedicating it to my future wife. Now, I arrange EBC Trek and help travelers feel the same as I did.
That is my snapshot travel moment, which I will never forget in life.
